29 SEPTEMBER T/M 1 OKTOBER 2011 - MELKWEG, SUGAR FACTORY & WESTERUNIE AMSTERDAM

English

Off Centre is a young, underground festival for electronic music, taking place in the centre of Amsterdam from Thursday 29 September to Saturday 1 October, 2011. Expect three nights of the best new electronic styles with an international line-up in some of the main clubs of Amsterdam. Off Centre brings a selection of exciting sounds and promising new artists. The programme focuses on the combination of dance and provides a lot of space for melody and cross-overs between different styles.

The first edition, in May 2010, featured soon-to-be-discovered artists like James Blake, Mount Kimbie, Gold Panda and Lone. This year’s line-up brings together Jamie XX, Nathan Fake, Hyetal and many others. Check the ‘programma’ and ‘artiesten’ sections to see the full programme. Unfortunately, no English artist info is currently available, but you will be able to listen to tracks.

The main location for Off Centre is the legendary Melkweg (Milky Way), but Off Centre also takes place at two other hot spots of the Amsterdam nightlife: the Sugar Factory and Westerunie. With a flourishing electronic music scene, Amsterdam is one of the best places to discover new talent and spend your weekend. If you don’t believe us, ask The Gaslamp Killer!

Amsterdam is easy to reach: many airlines, including Transavia and Easyjet, fly to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol; Eurolines has daily connections to the Dutch capital and there are plenty of international trains. Around Leidseplein, one of the city’s nightlife hubs and the heart of Off Centre festival, you will find many hotels and hostels, such as the Backstage Hotel, situated just around the corner from Melkweg.

If you have any questions about tickets, accomodation or the line-up, please don’t hesitate to post a message on www.facebook.com/offcentre or send an e-mail to info[at]off-centre.nl.
